Stephen Ministry at Christ the King

To be a Stephen Minister, or to have a relationship with a Stephen Minister, is a life changing experience.

The Stephen Ministers at CTK represent a broad cross-section of the congregation - women and men both older and younger, those with years of experience in Stephen Ministry behind them and those who are fairly new to the ministry. All of our Stephen Ministers share a common desire to serve the Lord through helping others.

Stephen Ministers are commissioned after receiving over 50 hours of training and preparation. They also receive monthly continuing education, enrichment in a variety of topics, and support and supervision during bi-monthly meetings with the Stephen Leaders.

It is important to note that Stephen Ministers are caring lay people, not professionals. They are unable to provide legal, medical, psychological counseling or other professional advice. If these services are needed, your Stephen Minister will help refer you to appropriate care.

Stephen Ministry support is available to any adult. You do not have to be a member of Christ The King Lutheran Church. Once you contact a Pastor or a Stephen Leader a Stephen Minister will be in touch with you. Confidentiality policies assure that these will be the only people who will know of your relationship.
